Che il nostro misero paese goda di una pessima reputazione grazie ai cacciatori è risaputo: abbattimenti illegali di migliaia di animali ogni anno, tanto per citare un esempio. E multe dall’Unione Europea per violazioni della normative comunitarie in tema caccia.
La nostra Vasca è stata oggetto di alcune illegalità da parte di cacciatori, rimasti ignoti, negli anni passati. Il tutto puntualmente segnalato alla Polizia Locale. Da quest’anno, come già segnalato da GaeNava, pochissime doppiette frequentano la Volano, essendo per la gran parte migrate in Provincia di Milano: pochi han scelto la neonata Provincia di Monza Brianza.
Sull’impreparazione generale di tanti cacciatori in tema di riconoscimento specie, durante gli esami per il patentino, girano da sempre storielle e aneddoti. Anche le basi di geografia probabilmente difettano. Ieri, 22 gennaio 2011, il nostro GaeNava si è imbattuto in due armati di doppietta e con cani al seguito. Un breve conciliabolo li ha fatti allontanare tra inusitati ringraziamenti al nostro fotografo; erano fuori Provincia: avessero sparato un colpo, poteva scattare la denuncia. L’episodio fa riflettere; certo, un errore può capitare a tutti. Ma l’episodio ha valore simbolico: quanto costan alla fauna e al territorio italiano l’impreparazione di questi signori?

Over the last years, our Vasca Volano has been visited by hunters shooting all around the area. As told by GaeNava, the newly created Monza Brianza District (Provincia di Monza Brianza) keeps most of them out, for they choose to hunt in the Milano District.
Some of them, anyway, need a little help, for their geographical basics are really poor. Yesterday (January 22th 2011), GaeNava came across with two hunters, totally off the area they are allowed to shoot i.e. Milano District. Getting away, they kept thanking our photographer, who told them they were offside. Should they have shot, they would have been fined. That sounds strange only to people who have never heard of Italian hunters.

I want to thank you for your wonderful efforts. I have been following your blog since I read about your activities in the journal of the CSOP - Czech Association for Nature Conservancy.
In our country we also have problems with hunters, both legal and illegal. There are legal hunting associations but they don't always behave in a legal way, let alone ethical!
